Affiliate disclosure
Heidelberg Castle Tickets takes part in the GetYourGuide affiliate programme. If you book a tour through a link or booking panel on this site, GetYourGuide pays me a small commission. You pay exactly what you would have paid going to them directly — the commission comes out of their margin, not your ticket.
How it works in practice
Every booking link and availability panel here carries an affiliate tag. Click one, book within the tracking window, and the sale is attributed to this site. That commission pays for the research: reading operator listings line by line, checking the castle’s opening structure against the official visitor information, and re-reading the traveller reviews behind every rating quoted in the reviews section.
What it does not do
It does not decide the recommendations. The clearest evidence is in the reviews themselves: one product is described as non-refundable and wrong for day visitors, another as a supplement rather than a substitute with thin commentary, and the highest-rated tour’s small review base is flagged rather than hidden. A site optimising purely for commission would write none of that.
It also does not affect what you pay, and it is not the reason no prices appear here. Prices are absent because they move with season, group size and what is bundled, and a stale figure helps nobody — the fuller explanation is on the about page, and what actually changes the number is on the admission-cost page.
Independence
This site is not a tour operator and not a booking agent. It is not the castle administration — Staatliche Schlösser und Gärten Baden-Württemberg runs Schloss Heidelberg — and it is not connected to the HeidelbergCard issuer or to the operators of the tours reviewed here. No operator pays for placement or sees a page before it is published. If you think something here reads as though it were bought, tell me.
Frequently asked questions
Does booking through this site cost me more?
No. You pay GetYourGuide’s normal price for the date you choose; the commission comes out of their side. The live figure is in the booking panel on each tour review.
Do operators pay to be listed here?
No. The six products on the all-tours page were chosen on ratings, review volume and what their tickets actually contain, and the honest caveats stay in whether an operator likes them or not.
Why should I trust the ratings you quote?
They are GetYourGuide’s own, left only by people who booked, and I quote them unimproved — including the 4.2 and the 4.1, with the reasons spelled out in the HeidelbergCard and boat tour reviews.
